From Engineer to Entrepreneur
After completing his honours and master’s degrees in Information and Communication Engineering at Islamic University, Kushtia, Shamim Hussain began his career at the multinational software company REVE Systems. During seven years in the corporate technology sector, he gained valuable experience working on software and technical operations.
Alongside his engineering background, he pursued business and management studies at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. But a question increasingly occupied his mind: what could he do for the educated yet unemployed young people in the villages he knew so well?
He decided to leave his established multinational career and build something of his own. That decision led to Skilluper, an initiative focused on practical digital skills and pathways into freelancing and the digital economy.
Six Chapters of the Journey
Studied Information and Communication Engineering at Islamic University, Kushtia, building a foundation in technology.
Joined REVE Systems after university and spent seven years gaining hands-on experience in a multinational software company.
